I love that traveling takes me out of my comfort zone. In my daily life at home, I slip into autonomy where I don’t really notice and appreciate the world around me, but once I go somewhere new my senses are awakened and I feel alive. Over the years I’ve created a mental bucket list of destinations I would like to visit, and while I would love to see just about anywhere, here are a few places I’m especially interested in:
- Santorini, Greece: Santorini has been on my travel radar since I first watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants as a teenager (oh come on, I can’t be the only one!). From the blue roofs to the sunset views, everything about the island enchants me and looks like a great place to explore.
- Kakslauttanen, Finland: I’ve always dreamed of seeing the northern lights, and there’s an arctic resort here that has glass igloos for rooms! On top of catching a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis, they also have reindeer and husky safaris. Sign me up!
- Phuket, Thailand: Everyone I’ve ever spoken to that has traveled to Thailand has raved about the experience – they say the culture is rich, the region is affordable, and the scenery is breathtaking. I’d like to take a dip in the crystal clear turquoise waters of Phuket, maybe do a little scuba diving, then travel through the rest of the country!
