My Favorite Sports Bras

favorite sports bras favorite sports brasWith the array of sports bra options these days, I feel like Goldilocks whenever it’s time to shop for a new one: ‘This one’s too tight, this one’s not tight enough, straps too loose, straps digging into my skin, too difficult to pull on over my head, etc.’ Finding comfort AND function isn’t always easy, but here are a few styles I’ve come across that suit my needs for a variety of different activities.

  • Victoria’s Secret Incredible Sports Bra: Built for even the most ‘bouncy’ of exercises, this underwire style is great for high impact activities like running or jump roping. I like that the straps are adjustable and the molded cups preserve the shape of your chest – this is one of the few sports bras I’ve had that doesn’t give my chest a smushed-pancake look. Bonus: this style has standard band/cup bra sizing, so if you have specific sizing needs, this range is for you!
  • Target C9 Champion Seamless Racerback Sports Bra: The seamless design of this style makes it comfortable against the skin, and its medium support suits my medium-sized chest for almost any activity (I even find myself running in this one from time to time). I’ve washed and worn this one a hundred times and for the $17 price tag, it’s held up extremely well.
  • Lululemon Free To Be Bra: I have this in four colors, and it’s my go-to lounging bra (I’m wearing it right now). Perfect for lazy days, leisurely strolls, and yoga class, this style is cute, comfortable, and flattering for when I’m keeping things low-key. I love the scrappy cross detail on the back and removable cups!

I love the Victoria Secret bra, I think I have 5 of them. Everytime they have their semi annual sale, I can’t help but pick one up! I’ve been trying to find a new lounging bra so I think the Lulu Lemon one will be added to my list, thanks!

I do a lot of high intensity workouts and I’ve found the bras from Nike and Target to be the best. I’ve had several from VS come unraveled at the bottom and they are too highly padded. Maybe the Incredible one is more supportive, but I can’t even do jumping jacks or high knees with the ones I have without looking ridiculous.

I’ve never tried the Nike bras and I’m not sure why, I love everything else from them! *heads to nike website* :)

I need to try that VS sports bra! I was at Marshalls yesterday and found a knock off of the VS sports bra that zips in the front. I love the support it gave, until it started to unzip itself in the middle of my run…

Yikes!! Haha that would be so awkward. I tried the zip one on at Victoria’s Secret but never considered it may unzip itself…

The VS one looks fantastic! Most sports bras don’t offer enough support imo.

Some of these look really good, I feel like with sports bras I usually have to go for the ugly options because they’re the ones that are big enough to fit my chest. I do have a couple of decent ones from H&M though, they’re not amazing but they do the trick!

I love the C9 ones, but I really want to get a VS one for the times I need a lot more support! I have a couple ones from old navy that I love too, but those are more for athleisure/fashion than actual working out!

I have a few new balance sports bras that are A+. Adjustable straps, removable padding, super stretchy. I have a smaller bust though so not as difficult for me to find sports bras.

I’ve never looked at the New Balance ones, love the adjustable strap feature though! I’ll have to check them out.

I seriously want a VS one. They do get more expensive when the sizes go up which is a bit annoying, but the support is amazing!

This is such a helpful post; it’s nice to know I am not the only one who buys a bunch of black/gray sports bras and who shops for them at Target!

      Gotta love neutrals! :)

If anyone is larger busted (I’m a 36G), the panache sports bra is amazing. You can wear it the regular way for medium support, or hook the back straps together for high intensity activity. I used to have to wear two bras while running (and I would still end up holding my chest after 20-30 minutes), but no longer.
