With the array of sports bra options these days, I feel like Goldilocks whenever it’s time to shop for a new one: ‘This one’s too tight, this one’s not tight enough, straps too loose, straps digging into my skin, too difficult to pull on over my head, etc.’ Finding comfort AND function isn’t always easy, but here are a few styles I’ve come across that suit my needs for a variety of different activities.
- Victoria’s Secret Incredible Sports Bra: Built for even the most ‘bouncy’ of exercises, this underwire style is great for high impact activities like running or jump roping. I like that the straps are adjustable and the molded cups preserve the shape of your chest – this is one of the few sports bras I’ve had that doesn’t give my chest a smushed-pancake look. Bonus: this style has standard band/cup bra sizing, so if you have specific sizing needs, this range is for you!
- Target C9 Champion Seamless Racerback Sports Bra: The seamless design of this style makes it comfortable against the skin, and its medium support suits my medium-sized chest for almost any activity (I even find myself running in this one from time to time). I’ve washed and worn this one a hundred times and for the $17 price tag, it’s held up extremely well.
- Lululemon Free To Be Bra: I have this in four colors, and it’s my go-to lounging bra (I’m wearing it right now). Perfect for lazy days, leisurely strolls, and yoga class, this style is cute, comfortable, and flattering for when I’m keeping things low-key. I love the scrappy cross detail on the back and removable cups!
