While I love a great lip color, I rarely go to the effort in my daily makeup routine. Two sips of my mid-morning tea and poof! – there’s more color on my cup (and sometimes teeth) than my lips. My makeup priority these days is low maintenance looks, so when Maybelline challenged me to try their SuperStay 24 Color, I thought why not? I only have to apply it once, right?
The Maybelline NY SuperStay 24 lip color is dual-ended with a tube and wand at one end, and a clear moisturizing balm at the other. Apply a thin layer of color to the lips, then top it off with the balm for a long-lasting, all day look. You can reapply the balm throughout the day to keep the lips feeling comfortable and moisturized.
The first time I tried this, I was shocked at how the color locked onto my lips. It would not come off on anything – and believe me, I tried. I was smooching the back of my hand and taking extra long sips of tea to tempt some product to transfer off… it didn’t budge. And because I only needed an ultra-thin layer of color in application, my lips didn’t feel covered in product.
I’ve found it’s a good idea to keep the balm on hand throughout the day to reapply – my lips start to feel dry after a few hours without it, and it helps keep the color locked in. Overall, I’m very impressed and love that this is something I can apply once and be done with for the day. The shade On And On Orchid is my favorite.
What is your go-to daily lip color?
Thank you to Maybelline NY for partnering with me for this post.
