#tbt to two summers ago. How time flies! Happy Valentine's Day to this guy - on the next one we'll be married. Thank you for being my best, funniest, most handsome friend and biggest supporter. How'd I get so lucky? πŸ’‘ πŸ’˜
Part of the reason I took a trip to Whistler this season is because Seattle never gets any snow and I wanted a real winter getaway... so OF COURSE we had one of the biggest snow events in recent history β„οΈβ˜ƒοΈ figures. Still doesn't beat Whistler though! What is your favorite season? I love everything from June to New Year β˜€οΈ πŸπŸŽ„
.
Also, thank you for all of the recommendations you guys have sent my way for Charleston and Savannah! I shared a bunch in my story if you haven’t seen it yet. Except there are so many food recommendations, I think I will have to eat nonstop?? πŸ˜‚

On the steps of Sensō-ji Temple β›©over the past year, I've been asked countless times what my favorite solo trip has been. To be honest, I don't have one - I've loved each trip in a different way. However, I would say my "proudest" journey has been Japan.
.
When I booked my flights to Tokyo, part of me thought I was crazy for going to Japan alone. I didn't know a word of Japanese and the language is entirely different characters, so I couldn't Google it if I wanted to. I also knew the Tokyo subway system was one of the most extensive networks in the world, and I would be learning to navigate it by myself... not knowing Japanese.
.
The first couple of days in Tokyo I had no idea what I was doing. I would stand at a ticket machine for 10 minutes pressing random buttons until something worked. I stopped many locals who kindly did their best to understand and help me find my way.
.
And guess what? I FIGURED IT ALL OUT. By the end of my stay in Tokyo, I wasn't even mapping my way back to the hotel. I knew exactly how the ticket machines worked, which lines I needed to get on and stations I needed to transfer at.
.
Nothing gives me confidence the way solo travel does. Have you ever taken a trip you were nervous about? How did it go? ✈️

Dreaming of NYC today πŸ™ is there a city you love visiting again and again? I never get tired of New York. Maybe it's the energy, maybe it's the crazy cab drivers πŸš• there's always something new to discover and, of course, THE FOOD is πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ₯˜
